The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is involved in a large Transnational =
Access Grant proposal (6th EU Framework - successor of the Large Scale =
Facility Programme), together with other institutes, united in the =
Consortium of European Taxononomic Facilities (CETAF) - see end of this =
e-mail for list of institutes.

If successful, it will mean that colleagues in Europe can apply for =
fairly generous funding for working visits of up to 3 months to use =
RBGE's rich collections and consult specialists in the fields of =
taxonomy, biogeography, molecular systematics biodiversity assessment =
etc. It also provides a great opportunity to develop collaborative =
research programmes.

The chances for the grant proposal, and a condition for full =
participation by our institute therein, will depend on a rich collection =
of letters of support from European colleagues.

This is an important opportunity to fund researchers to work in RBGE. =
Therefore, I would be most grateful if you could find time to send a =
letter of support electronically, or in hard copy on institutional =
stationery, to Dr. Henrik Enghoff, Copenhagen, the Chairman of CETAF at =
your earliest convenenience but NOT later than 20 February.
